I requested a withdrawal in the BetVictor Cashier of €20 via Visa debit card. It was one of the fastest withdrawals I have experienced, with funds landing in my account almost instantly.

This certainly makes up for the lack of payment options at BetVictor. Alternatively, I could have used a bank transfer option, although that would have taken a lot longer.

We first made a deposit of €5 to Bet365 via a Visa debit card payment, which was processed instantly. Then, we placed a short odds bet on a 1/20 shot that came in before requesting a withdrawal.

We could only withdraw back to the Visa card we used to deposit, which is standard procedure for most bookmakers.

There were no problems with a €5 withdrawal request, which was processed instantly and hit our account in just two minutes.

We made an initial deposit of €30 at William Hill. We then made a withdrawal request of €10.61 in the cashier with a Visa debit card.

The withdrawal process was super-quick, taking just 15 minutes from our request until the funds landed back in our account.

We initially requested a €5 withdrawal, which is what we deposited, but found that the minimum withdrawal with a Visa debit card was €10.

We topped up and made another withdrawal request for €10, which was received and processed internally straight away. The funds landed in our bank account in 20 minutes, so we didn't have to wait long for the money.

We topped up our gaming balance at Coral, where the banking options are what we would describe as 'average'.

We deposited the minimum amount of €5m, using a Visa debit card, and then a withdrawal request was made through the same method.

After around 45 minutes, the bank balance was topped up, meaning we did not have to wait long for the money.

There was only one payment method available at QuinnBet during our testing and that was a debit card. As such, we made a withdrawal request over the weekend and out of hours, so to speak.

We were particularly interested to see the withdrawal speed at this time of the week. The funds landed back in the bank account within two hours, which was a pleasant surprise.

We tested the withdrawal process at LiveScore Bet on a Sunday morning and the withdrawal was a fair bit bigger than our initial deposit, at €49.

We wanted to see how long a bigger withdrawal would take in off peak times. We requested it through a Visa debit card.

We were left waiting 35 hours to get our funds, which is far from ideal. It remains to be seen how quick the process is at different times or via other banking options available.

Selected Betting Sites for Fast Withdrawals

Below, we have taken a closer look at three sites that have performed well in our withdrawal testing, while also offering good products beyond that.

Bet365 logo

Bet365

Bet365 is a betting site that is known to deliver on many fronts, if not all, and withdrawal time is one of them. We tested the site with a Visa debit card in our most recent test and had the money after a mere two minutes, which means we barely had to wait.

A further bonus is that the bookie accepts both Apple Pay and Google Pay, meaning you can use your Visa card with those methods too, and the minimum withdrawal amount is just €5. There isn't really that much more you can ask for.

Bet365 home

PayPal sits at €30 for deposits and withdrawals, the minimum that is, which could scare off a few punters but we are just glad that the bookie accepts the method. After all, many have moved away from that e-wallet due to high fees associated with offering it.

Beyond fast withdrawals, Bet365 arguably offers one of the best products for betting in Ireland. Promotions like early payout and sub on play on offer tremendous value, not to mention the daily odds boosts from the bookie and the modern bet builder tool.

It's not like Bet365 excels for one sport either; all of them have tremendous market depth and most also have live streaming for the events. Just like we can't ask for much more from the withdrawals, we can't ask for much more overall either.

Pros

  • 2-min withdrawal time
  • Withdrawals with PayPal
  • The best value sportsbook in the business

Cons

  • €30 minimum for PayPal

William Hill

William Hill has a long history in the betting industry and a reputation that proves it, known as one of the best betting sites around. Withdrawal-wise, it doesn't disappoint either with a quick test result of just 15 minutes, i.e. from the request being made to the money hitting our bank account.

Our test was done with a Visa debit card, but the bookie also accepts withdrawals with Apple Pay, Instant Bank Transfer and Revolut. This means that you can likely get fast withdrawals even if you don't own a Visa, using the modern bank option or Revolut instead.

William Hill deposit 1

While William Hill's minimum deposit is €10, the good news for those looking to withdraw is that the minimum withdrawal amount is cut in half to €5. This is great as we sometimes see bookies going the other way, raising the withdrawal minimum, which isn't exactly great.

If we look at the William Hill product as a whole, there is something for everyone. Live streaming is strong especially for horse racing, there are several promotions to check out, and the market depth is impressive. You would expect nothing less from such an established bookmaker, though.

The betting margins can improve a tad, with our test coming in at over 7%, so it's not all perfect with William Hill. If your focus is on withdrawals, however, the site delivers as said and that makes it an attractive option.

Pros

  • 15-min withdrawal time
  • Low withdrawal amount
  • Great sportsbook overall

Cons

  • Betting margins can be improved

Boyle Sports

Ending with a betting site that has its roots in Ireland, as opposed to the other two bookies on this list, we have Boyle Sports. Great improvements have been made to the site and app lately, which is also reflected in the withdrawal time.

The latest test we did of BoyleSports returned the money to our bank account after just 20 minutes. It's not instant, but we imagine that all punters can accept such a short wait. We did our test with Visa, but the selection of payment methods (Revolut, PayPal, Apple Pay and so on) acts as a positive too.

The main downside is that the bookie raises the minimum amount from €5 for deposits to €10 for withdrawals, which is something we have never been fans of. On the other hand, that €10 limit also applies to PayPal, so that's good at least.

As for placing bets, BoyleSports is fantastic when it comes to offering value to its customers. Promotions such as early payout (for multiple sports) and sub cover headline the site and there are many more, too many to mention.

The customer support also delivers with live chat and telephone contact options, making it easy for all types of punters. It would perhaps be a tad of a stretch to say it's as good as Bet365, but the difference certainly isn't big these days.

Pros

  • 20-min withdrawal time
  • Several methods including PayPal
  • Plethora of promotions

Cons

  • €10 minimum for withdrawals

Fast Withdrawal Methods Explained

Punters who are keen on getting their hands on winnings quickly have a few different options, all of which have their pros and cons. Below, we have outlined everything you need to know about these payment methods.

  • Visa icon

    Visa Debit Card

It might sound strange to label Visa as a fast withdrawal method, but after testing countless sites both in Ireland and the UK, this method has consistently performed very well. Gone are the days of waiting several days to get your money.

Usually, a Visa debit card withdrawal will have the money in your bank account within a couple of hours, with many bookies not even needing that much time. The minimum withdrawal amount always applies to the method too, with no surprise increases to note.

As most of you will know, you almost always need to withdraw to the same method you deposited with, so it's further good news that Visa qualifies for all welcome offers in Ireland. No need to use one method for the first withdrawal and then switch, in other words.

The one con would be that while Visa has performed well in our tests, these types of withdrawals could end up taking longer than expected. This varies from bookie to bookie, so it could be worth taking a look at our test if you are eyeing a specific one to potentially join.

  • PayPal ny ikon

    E-Wallets

There is no doubt that e-wallets have become increasingly popular in recent years. Seeing as it's a wallet of its own, hence the name, many punters use it to keep many betting site transactions from showing up on their bank statements. It also saves you from having to enter card details, using email and password instead.

Another benefit is the speed, in most of the cases anyway. PayPal is the most popular one and withdrawals with that method tend to arrive within a few hours, at most 24 hours, in our experience. Skrill and Neteller deliver similar speeds, as does the newly upgraded e-wallet Paysafecard.

One of the downsides, however, is that e-wallets very rarely qualify for welcome offers on betting sites. This isn't a problem if you want to use a site multiple times of course, but it's worth noting if you are thinking about signing up for a new bookie with an e-wallet.

Furthermore, when the money is withdrawn, it doesn't hit your bank account straight away. Instead, you will need to withdraw from PayPal to the bank account, which adds more time to the overall withdrawal time. This isn't necessarily an issue but again, something to keep in mind.

  • Instant Bank Transfer

    Instant Bank Transfers

It's only in the last three years or so that this method has become a thing in Ireland and the UK. Trustly has existed for quite some time, in fairness, but it hasn't really been implemented by the bookies. Instant Bank Transfers or Pay By Bank, on the other hand, have certainly been adopted.

Thanks to new technology, you can now connect directly to your bank and transfer funds, bypassing the usual middlemen like Visa, Apple Pay, PayPal and so on. This means that the transactions are completed much quicker, with most withdrawals taking just a few minutes in our experience.

It's not always instant, despite the name, but it's close enough and acts as a very convenient way of topping up your betting account and withdrawing from it. There usually aren't any restrictions for this method on welcome offers either, so you're not taking anything away.

On the negative side, not all betting sites accept this method, and some punters are a bit worried about connecting directly to the bank. It's not an unsafe method, we should point out, but we can also understand why some punters might be hesitant about new technology.

How to Improve Withdrawal Times

Improving withdrawal times from betting sites in Ireland involves a combination of choosing the right bookie, utilising fast withdrawal methods, and optimising your withdrawal process.

  • Choose a Bookmaker with Fast Withdrawal Times: Research and choose a bookmaker known for processing withdrawals quickly from our list above. Opt for fast withdrawal methods like Visa, Instant Bank Transfer or e-wallets.

  • Verify Your Identity Promptly: Complete the bookmaker's identity verification process as soon as possible. This involves providing documentation to prove your identity and address. Once verified, withdrawals are usually processed faster.

  • Make Smaller, More Frequent Withdrawals: Instead of withdrawing large amounts infrequently, consider making smaller withdrawals more often. This can help reduce the processing time per withdrawal.

  • Avoid Withdrawing During Peak Times: Bookmakers may experience higher volumes of withdrawal requests during peak times, such as weekends or holidays. Consider making withdrawals during off-peak hours to potentially speed up the process.

  • Keep Withdrawal Records: Maintain records of your withdrawal requests, including dates, amounts, and methods used. This can be helpful in case of any discrepancies or disputes.

  • Contact Customer Support for Assistance: If you encounter issues or delays with your withdrawals, contact the bookmaker's customer support team. They can assist and investigate any potential issues.

  • Be Patient and Understanding: Withdrawal processing times can vary depending on various factors, including bank transfers, identity verification, and bookmaker procedures. Be patient and allow sufficient time for the processing to complete.
