Considering that the GRAI licensing was rolled out on July 1st 2026, many betting sites are currently in the process of getting approved by the authority. Over 20 have already been approved, but a lot of these are established bookies that cannot exactly be called new.
As such, we have highlighted five betting sites below that are actually new, launching in 2017 at the earliest. This may not sound new to you, and fair play, but the truth is that there aren't that many new sites in Ireland right now, given the licensing situation.
TalkSPORT BET is the newest betting site on this list, though that might not be the case for too long (as more bookies will secure the licence). It was launched in 2022 after a partnership was struck with BV Gaming, which also runs BetVictor and Parimatch, to name a few.
Admittedly, once you open up talkSPORT BET, it's pretty obvious that BetVictor supplies the platform. Even more so when you compare the odds between the sister sites, which are identical 99% of the time. There is benefit to signing up on both sites, though.
First of all, talkSPORT BET has its own welcome offers and promotions, so you can find value on the site that you wouldn't necessarily find on BetVictor. The colours of the design might appeal more to you too, even if that is a very minor thing.
There is a free-to-play game on offer called Footy 4 Play, which is always nice, and involves predicting four final scores for a chance to win up to €100 as a free bet. Not the highest reward we have seen from these types of games, but it's not bad!
A good summary would probably be that the bookie lives up to a very high standard, both thanks to the reputation of the talkSPORT brand and the backing of BV Gaming. We suspect this will be a popular one among Irish punters.

StarSports made a name for itself in the UK with on-course bookmaking before moving into the online sphere in 2018. It actually held a licence in Ireland before securing one from GRAI, so it's possible that some of you have already signed up on the site.
Nevertheless, StarSports has certainly evolved from just being a horse racing-focused bookmaker. You can find all types of sports on the site these days, powered by Playbook Gaming (one of our favourites), and the odds (especially the boosted ones) are usually very good.
One thing that has made StarSports stand out in recent years is the focus on special markets. A lot of betting sites are focusing more on this, but the star-themed bookie has been incredibly vigilant on this front, always keeping up with the latest happenings to price them up.
There is a low minimum deposit in place, €5 to be exact, which makes up for the lack of payment methods. The customer support has been very good too in our encounters, so you can't go wrong with most of the basics on the site.
The fact that cash out doesn't apply to bet builders is a bit more, and there are a few more minor things like that which might turn a few heads. Overall, though, we are talking about a very solid operator that should enjoy some success in Ireland.

BetGoodwin is another brand that has its roots in on-course bookmaking and perhaps, above all, telephone betting. Those roots date back to 1997 but the leap into the online world wasn't taken until 2022, when the site teamed up with FSB Technology.
Since then, the platform and sportsbook provider has changed to EveryMatrix, which completed a takeover of FSB. It's safe to say that the offering has become more advanced now, especially on the casino front where BetGoodwin was previously missing quite a lot.
As for the sports offering, you can find pretty much anything on the site. Promotions such as early payout and sub cover have also been added fairly recently, which shows a willingness from the bookie to improve the product (mainly the value for the customers).
Streaming is also offered for horse racing, but the horse racing section itself (and the way meetings are displayed) could be improved a little. The wide design doesn't really look good at the moment, and some more information about the races would be nice.
Still, this is a bookie that has a lot to give and even just the welcome offer is worth signing up for. We definitely recommend at least checking it out before discarding it as an option.

Maybe we should have put this betting site at the top, given it was founded by the Irishman Sean Quinn, but this list isn't actually in any sort of order. Anyway, it feels like the bookie has been around for a long time, but it was actually launched back in 2017.
The site and app both look very professional from the get-go, and it's especially great if you prefer darker-themed designs. Promotions are listed at the top, with quite a few good ones (early payout), and featured events are below that.
Overall, the design feels very inviting and displays things in a logical way. The markets themselves are decent value-wise, with average betting margins of 6.5%, but you can find some pretty good boosted odds too (there are even boosted accas).
We had no issues withdrawing from the site, receiving the money in just under two hours, but it's worth mentioning that QuinnBet only offers debit cards as a payment method. This isn't the end of the world for us, but it might be for others.
Nevertheless, it's certainly up there with some of the best ones around, even if we perhaps wouldn't put it in the same category as some of the heavy hitters. There are still some minor things to improve.

Fitzdares is far from the biggest brand, not even in the UK where it has seen the most success, but we have to give credit for the solidity. After a long history as an on-course and telephone operator, the online version was added back in 2018.
The sportsbook is powered by Amelco, which is a reputable company, and this shows with the design and market offering. It's nothing fancy, don't get me wrong here, but you have everything you need: many sports, decent betting margins, live streaming for some events, and some odds boosts.
Focusing on horse racing for a second, it's very nice to see that streaming is offered for more than just Irish and UK races, which isn't always the case. It doesn't apply to any of the football games, but the in-play features there do the trick (just about).
One thing that the bookie could do better is the promotions. There are some, but they aren't exactly generous and certainly don't compete with what the best betting sites offer. Not that you should perhaps expect it from a smaller/semi-new brand, but it's still a con.
All things considered, Fitzdares does the basics very well and will most likely suffice for your betting needs, but don't expect any fireworks.

There are a few new betting sites in Ireland on my radar. One of the most notable for me is Novibet, which was launched online here back around 2023. From the crisp and clear interface to the all-around product, I think the bookie stands out from its competitors.
It’s full of features like daily price boosts, Bet Builder + and Bet Request. You can opt in to receive exclusive offers and bonuses too.
In terms of the sports markets, Novibet has its own tab dedicated to Irish Premier Division football, alongside GAA sports (Hurling and Gaelic).
There’s great sport and market depth in general, combined with a full live betting experience, with virtual in-play stats and graphics.
It has its own menu of virtual sports, and e-sports like Dota 2, Counter-Strike and League of Legends.
Alternatively, you can venture over to the casino, which comprises over 13,000 games and a full live dealer suite powered by top software providers like Pragmatic Play, Evolution and Playtech.
It’s an all-inclusive experience, if you will!
At BettingLounge, we only list new betting sites that are licensed and regulated by the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland, also known as GRAI. Considering that this licence came into effect on July 1st 2026, there aren't exactly tons of licensed sites at the moment, but the number is increasing pretty quickly.
We understand that the lack of choice (even if there are about 20 bookies or so already) might tempt some punters to opt for unlicensed options instead. However, while not illegal, we strongly discourage doing so as you would be leaving your security and protection at the door.
Furthermore, as operating unlicensed sites in Ireland is illegal, GRAI has started to take action against some of the biggest ones around. For example, Stake decided to geo-block the site in Ireland after being threatened with sanctions or High Court action by GRAI, and more sites will follow.
In short, always check that the site you are eyeing holds a licence from GRAI to ensure that you have adequate protection with your betting. This applies to everything from getting your winnings paid out to knowing that the bookie will take action if your betting gets out of hand.
We take great pride in promoting gambling safely and responsibly here at BettingLounge. We will only recommend new online bookmakers with responsible gambling protocols on their sites.
