What Is BL Score?
Deciding which bookmaker to join isn't always an easy task, with many punters often turning to sites like ours for recommendations. Being able to trust these recommendations, and especially the ratings/scores given, is thus pivotal. We have acknowledged this and in order to become even better, we have added the BL Score to our site.
Instead of relying solely on our own verdicts for the average rating, we now go even further. By combining average ratings from the BettingLounge editorial team, BettingLounge users, Trustpilot users and app stores users, the BL Score aims to give you the best possible verdict on the quality of a betting or casino site.
How Is BL Score Calculated?
Taking the average of the combined score, i.e. from BettingLounge, Trustpilot and App Store, would have been the easy way but we have, once again, gone one step further. Indeed, as especially Trustpilot tends to be rather misleading for betting sites (bet365 has a 1.3/5!), we have placed an emphasis on the rating given by our editorial team.
In practice, this means that BettingLounge's editorial rating will always be weighted double compared to the other ratings when calculating the BL Score. For example, if a bookmaker has data from the BettingLounge editorial team, Trustpilot users as well as App Store users, then the structure is the following: 40-20-20-20 (in %).
